The Bay Leaf is an aromatic leaf which is thought to have many magical and mystical qualities. Bay Leaf comes from the sweet bay or laurel tree, known botanically as laurus nobilis.

The elliptical leaves of both trees are green, glossy, and grow up to 3 inches long. Although the Indian Bay Leaf is similar to the other bay leaves, its culinary is quite different in both aroma and flavour.
